Créateur exclusif de Tennis Canada pour la Coupe Rogers pour la 4iême année consécutive, le designer québécois confectionne avec fierté des créations exclusives pour les plus grands joueurs de calibreinternational.

Suite au succès de son dernier défilé printemps/été 2008 au profit du projet humanitaire Mission Maroc du CHU Ste-Justine, les organisateurs et médecins de cette mission ont remis un prix honorifique à Yves Jean Lacasse pour le remercier de son implication à la cause Les bonnes uvres du Cur de Casablanca.

His creations, particularly ethnic and historic in nature are intermingled with styles inspired by the noble courts of Africa and Europe. His collections are always influenced by the historic periods that mark a certain point in history; in particular, the 2008 fall/winter collection has folkloric references from the pre-Mexican revolutionary times during the early 20th century. About Yves Jean Lacasse…Yves Jean Lacasses creativity was recognized for the first time in 1999 when he participated in a fashion show in Brussels organized by the Agence QuĂ©bec Wallonie-Bruxelles pour la Jeunesse (AQWBJ) where he was awarded the Publics Choice Award. During fall 2000, he was nominated for the Griffe dOr and, in July 2001, he was invited to join the delegation of the QuĂ©bec-Europe 2001 mission in the presence of Prime Minister Bernard Landry. After winning the mention spĂ©ciale du prix Jean-Cartierat the Salon des mĂ©tiers darts of Montreal in December 2001, he was then invited by the Tunisian Tourism Board to present his collection and get acquainted with the fashion industry of that country. January 2004, Yves Jean Lacasse was also a finalist for the prestigious Rising Star Awardin New York. April 2004, ENVERS was invited by the Canadian Consulate of Munich for a fashion show at the Heringsdorf in Germany.

He was also invited, by the government of Quebec, to participate in the fashion show of the Salon Premiere of Atlanta-Mart in the United States. In November 2004, Yves Jean Lacasse, invited by France, represented Quebec at the International Biennale of Design of Saint-Etienne. He promotes the Quebec fashion industry in other countries and has been presenting his collections for almost six years in Brussels, where he always gets the attention of the fashion industry and the press. In September 2005, he participated in a fashion show at the Paris Landing in Boston chaired by Philippe Starck.

In October 2005, he celebrated the tenth anniversary of the ENVERS label during a benefit with the McCord Museum Foundation which holds the largest collection of Canadian historical costumes. In 2006, he was appointed the designer for the Outgames in Montreal and appointed for the 4th year by Tennis Canada for the Rogers Cupwhere he created exclusive garments for the top women and men tennis players from around the world.

After a very successful evening for the spring/summer 2008 fashion show in profit of the humanitarian project Mission Maroc of the CHU Sainte Justine, the organizers along with the doctors dedicated to this mission, presented Yves Jean Lacasse with an honorific prize in order to thank him for his implication in the cause. Cellulite is obviously not a simple one dimensional problem. There are various contributing factors, however, the main issues are found in the skin: its structure, elasticity and thickness. In women, the connective tissue lies up and down, parallel to itself, with fat cells lying below it. It actually has large spaces in between, which makes it very easy for fat cells below to push up towards the surface of the skin. Ironically, fat cells do not push toward the surface of the skin if you gain weight. In fact, it is only able to push up toward the surface when the thickness and elasticity of the skin are diminished. Then the fatty deposits are trapped within the connective tissue, causing the dimpled, puckered look we all despise. The cause of the loss of thickness and elasticity is collagen and elastin breaking down. Want to know why guys don’t have cellulite as much as women? Men’s connective tissue actually fits very close together in a criss-cross pattern, thus preventing the fat from pushing up towards the surface of the skin.

Elastin and collagen diminish with age in everyone. But external factors play a part as well. The environment, one’s diet, sun exposure and lifestyle also play a big part. How can we prevent the skin from losing elasticity and thickness? The body must be assisted in producing collagen and elastin. Nutritionally, one can eat a diet rich in foods we know aid the body in its production of these essential proteins. Eggs are rich in amino acids, which help produce collagen. Cucumber and spinach strengthen the skin with silica and lecithin respectively. Pineapple is anti-inflammatory, it helps fight water retention, and aids in the healing of damaged collagen fibers. Also its very high in vitamin C. Eat pears to detox from pollutants and stimulate the lymphatic system. Oranges are excellent sources of vitamin C and contain bioflavonoids, which help circulation and strengthen capillaries. Broccoli contains alpha lipoic acid, which helps prevent the destruction of collagen from sugar. You get the idea.

Externally, one can do a few things at home for the skin on the body. Exfoliation is essential- the slight abrasion will trigger the skin’s healing mechanism which helps the synthesis of collagen and elastin. Also using a hydrating cream to feed the skin all the nutrients it needs to replenish the damage that occurs from our environment. Therapeutically, there are many things we can do here in the salon that would be a tremendous help, so just ask me!
In handling cellulite or any other skin problem the best thing I can recommend is prevention from the start. Obviously we are all going to age, but there are so many wonderful things available to us to slow down the signs, why not take advantage of them?

For decades, doctors have not only recognized this fact but used it in the treatment of burns, gangrene and wounds that simply would not heal otherwise. In an oxygen rich environment, bacteria, viruses, and fungal infections simply do not survive. Moreover, high concentrations of oxygen trigger the body’s own healing functions. If you are severely burned or cut, the skin will rapidly heal in such a favorable environment. It is these two very important functions of oxygen that inspired skin care experts to incorporate oxygen into esthetic treatments around the world.

Did you know that in pre-historic earth, the earth’s atmosphere contained oxygen levels of up to 35%? Today, thanks to the Industrial Revolution and deforestation, that number has gone down to 21%. As an esthetician, I have seen skin that is highly sensitized, breaking out in a rash when they use products with any chemical ingredients of any kind. Wrinkles, loss of elasticity, and excessive sun damage are also the result of the assault our skin is under.

Keeping all of these facts under consideration, it only makes rational sense that incorporating pure oxygen as a treatment into our routine would have real benefit. We need to replenish the oxygen the environment is lacking. We need it to repair damage inflicted on our bodies. And not once a year, but a minimum of once every month. Oxygen treatments in facials and body treatments help combat all sorts of enemies to the skin, from pollution and stress to the lack of oxygen in the atmosphere.

With any color of suit, you should wear dark socks. You would wear black or brown with a brown suit. With navy blue, you would wear navy blue or black socks. Never wear white socks with a suit. Never wear colored t-shirts with a suit. If you wear a t-shirt underneath your white dress shirt, make sure it is a white one that won’t show. With a navy blue suit or pants, it is appropriate to wear a white dress shirt. You can also wear a light blue dress shirt, but it probably would not look good with a one that is navy, black or brown. When you are wearing a brown suit or pants, you can always wear a white dress shirt. However, you would not want to wear a brown shirt, or one that is navy or yellow. Pale blue or even black might be all right with this color. Ties that are worn should have colors in them that are similar to those that are in the suit or the shirt. Loud colors or patterns are not attractive. With a black suit or pants, a silver tie would look nice depending on the color of the shirt. Besides color coordination, there are a few other things that are important when trying to dress fashionably.

4. Have any buttons replaced, zippers repaired, holes mended (dry cleaners often offer this service).

5. Wash your under garments, jeans, socks and other casual clothing on a regular basis.

Hopefully, these 5 fashion tips will make your life a lot easier. Although it will cost you a little money at the dry cleaners, it will be worth it! Women in your life, including your mother and sisters, will be very impressed when they see the improvement. Who knows? Your next raise might be on its way!
One thing you want to be diligent about is making sure that you wash your under garments on a regular basis. It does no good to take your daily shower, put on deodorant, aftershave, and cologne if everything you wear isn’t clean!

1. Staying fit and healthy starts with a balanced diet. Know and monitor the right weight for your age. Consult your doctor to learn what food you should avoid and follow your eating discipline routines. If you are trying to lose some weight, foods with high calories should be omitted from your meals. Food with high fiber and low fat should be included a priority in your grocery list instead of red meat, sugars and fats.

2. Drink plenty of water. Consume at least eight glasses of water every day. This cleanses the body from impurities. It is also advised for lactating women to increase water intake to keep the body hydrated. Water also helps to keep sinuses clear and is a natural antioxidant. It can also increase muscle tone and strength.

3. Take Vitamins and Supplements. Do not forget your Calcium supplement. Sufficient Calcium intake is beneficial for women of all ages. This has been proven to prevent having cramps and Pre-Menstrual Period (PMS) Symptoms. It also prevents Osteoporosis especially for menopausal women. Vitamin E boosts strong immune system. Women who undergo menopausal period should take Vitamin E-400 as it stops night sweats and hot flashes. Also, Vitamin E is said to be best in avoiding wrinkles when aging.

Tae-Bo and jumping rope are only a few of the many effective exercises you can do at home. Exercises help in limiting the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

6. Avoid stress. Many women are prone to too much stress. Stress has been known as cause to many sicknesses. As much as possible, women need to take time to relax. Read a good book, hang out with friends and engage into sports. Pamper yourself by going to parlors or you can do some shopping. And do not forget to get enough sleep to revive your energy. Set a bed time each night and stick to it in 2008!

7. Use sunscreen to protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun. Wear hats when under the sun to protect your skin. Too much sun is bad for your skin. The skin is prone to cancer when exposed to too much sunlight. It also speeds up the aging of skin cells, which causes wrinkles to women. When swimming, consider buying a surfers swimwear from a sporting goods store, especially if you are in the water daily for many hours.

8. Make sure to visit your dentist to keep that beautiful smile. Always have it cleaned to prevent cavities and bad breath. Use a mouthwash daily. Mouthwash may also help prevent cold sores if used regularly.

9. Visit your Gynecologist. Women who are eighteen and above should have their Physical Examination annually, especially for the Pap Smear. Co-enzyme Q-10 is essential to help prevent breast cancer and it can be found in many better vitamins.
